Effects of Carbonization Temperature from Activated Carbon of Water Hyacinth on the Flux and Its Ability on Iron Removal

The synthesis of activated carbon derived from water hyacinth has been successfully carried out as an iron adsorbent in a laboratory-scale filter design system. In this article, is made through carbonization process at 400°C and 500°C with NaOH activating agent. This acts media for purifying well by assessing the flux, pH removal efficiency before after filtration. results showed that use temperature resulted flux value greater than 400°C. no difference between (at 500°C) filtration process, which was 7.5. Meanwhile, effectiveness medium more optimal reducing levels compared to percentage up 98.09%.
